Upon hitting the milestone of 2000 Facebook fans, Liar decides to expand upon his previous 1k giveaway, "Strangle Eve", and present his supporters with full-on a free EP. Having recently fallen in love, his new offering is much more light-hearted fare than one might have gotten used to, mining boundless 80's nostalgia and symbolic self-indulgency.
The first track, LCFR, is a lost & found demo - initially a little vocal jam through a broken-capsule mic, with each subsequent layer it gradually became one of Liar's most euphoric, honest, and vigorous cuts. Dusted off, restored and remastered, it now opens the EP with great aplomb. Conceptually, it is a musical take on Luceafărul ("The Evening Star"), Mihai Eminescu's poetic masterpiece. Almost verbatim, it is a treatise on obssession given free rein.
The second track, Devil, is equally a more accoustic and more digital affair, blending self-samples of Liar's own past dabbling in symphonic music, and a futuristic, hyperproduced nod to Jazz Jackrabbit-esque funk, written as an ode to the Lamborghini Diablo.
